I have a Shopify store I purchased as a birthday gift to myself (3/29/2018). I wanted to sell moissanite diamonds. I found the perfect store, purchased it. Did all I thought I needed to do. I attempted to use the Shopify payments as it was easiest to use for the e-com store. I was denied and said that my e-commerce store was a risk as well. I recently tried to sell on the same platform and was denied because of this supposed risk they NEVER tell you of. DO NOT USE SHOPIFY. Luckily my storefront was only $300 and I only spent another 300 in attempting to get it up and running. My store is currently closed BUT was told it stays in the system for up to a year. So far it has been closed for 2 months.

There is much more for me to learn on Shopify, and I am not looking at the best apps to use to help increase my business, such as abandoned cart recovery, reviews, etc. Anyhow, I have sold about $2500 in products on Shopify since February, and my Etsy store is going strong with many more sales. However, considering that I have to attract traffic to my Shopify site on my own, I am thrilled. Customer service and help at Shopify is excellent. If you really want to customize your store further, the company offers customizable H1, title, and meta tags. Also, the URLs are all SEO friendly. Shopify has partnered with Google in order to occasionally give you advertising money for a new AdWords account. I certainly wouldn't base my decision on which ecommerce platform gives me money to advertise on Google, but I guess it's a nice bonus.
Overall though, I would suggest that you use the platform (whether it’s Shopify or GoDaddy) that you feel the most comfortable with. Also consider that when you grow bigger, if GoDaddy can scale along side with your business, and provide you with more needed features as your business grows. I know for Shopify they have a lot of different built in tools, and all sorts of powerful add-on’s (their apps market) which can power small businesses to very large businesses. One thing great about Shopify is that they are built to be able to handle and scale with growing businesses. It’s not a coincidence that they are one of the best and fastest growing e-commerce platforms out there.

YoKart has a couple of downsides, though. Given the robust structure, customizing YoKart will require a developer with extensive knowledge of PHP. Also, it's not open source like Magento. The Startup and GoQuick Packages offer default themes. And, unlike Magento, YoKart is primarily focused on SMB, which means the needed features are already available in standard packages; for large scale enterprises, customization would be a must do.

I’m so happy I found this blog b/c it’s filled with a lot of good information; and of course I have a small business question. I currently have a Wix ecommerce store, but Wix doesn’t allow me to have the following options for my customers: Register (create account), Login/My Account, and a Customer Loyalty program. While I love the ease of managing my Wix site by myself and their monthly eccommerce price. I’m just not too sure where to go. Maybe Sqaurespace, but I’m not too sure if they offer what I need or should I just go with Shopify? I just fear that I won’t undestand the techy stuff if I go with Shopify.
