Thank you so much for your professional and expert advices. I like to know whether Squarespace can offer e-commerce in digital products/services? I am planning to charge my clients to download e-books, softwares from my website. Moreover, will the tools Ecwid solve the problem that I reside in Hong Kong/China and need to use payment service that accepts RMB/HK$? If yes, is it easy to deploy the EcWid to Squarespace?
Like any digital technology or consumer-based purchasing market, e-commerce has evolved over the years. As mobile devices became more popular, mobile commerce has become its own market. With the rise of such sites as Facebook and Pinterest, social media has become an important driver of e-commerce. As of 2014, Facebook drove 85 percent of social media-originating sales on e-commerce platform Shopify, per Paymill.

Transfers, Inventory, Collections and Gift Cards are seen as tabs in this area as well. I like the Inventory tab because it features all of the items in your store, all organized into a clean and manageable list. The product page also offers several options for things like SEO, shipping and the imagery that users are going to see when landing on this product page.
Don’t worry, your favorite YouTube makeup artist was never at risk of going to the big house, but Ultra Records did ask for the maximum $150,000 penalty for each of the 50 instances of copyright infringement it claimed against Michelle Phan. Ultimately, Phan and her army of attorneys were able to reach an undisclosed settlement agreement with Ultra Records.
Lack of payment processors can be troublesome at times, especially when other ecommerce platforms offer plenty of payment options. The global marketplace entitles Tictail to take a commission. However, the custom shop (which comes at a reasonable price on a yearly basis) frees you from paying anything additional to Tictail for each sale happening there.
If you’re looking to set up shop fast on the web, you’re really not going to do much better than Shopify—especially if you’re not too familiar with the under-the-hood workings of the internet. The interface is super smooth and navigating around the site comes pretty intuitively. There is also great customer support in the form of the site’s super-responsive live chat, a feature that is disappearing faster and faster these days from online companies.
I really learned a lot from your review. I’m interested in this business and I am planning to put up a variety shop using this as a platform, But I am worried of two things, 1. Is this possible? having different kinds of products to sell? 2. I’m from the Philippines. Will I be successful in this business even though my country is not listed in the Shopify affiliated list?

We welcome you to this review of the Shopify e-commerce platform! If you have ever bought an article online, chances are that you did it through one of Shopify’s over 90,000 online stores. Unlike eBay or Amazon Market Places, Shopify allows you to sell your products on your OWN website. In this review, we try to find an answer to whether it is really possible to set up an online store without any programming skills.
With the Professional plan, you can upload up to 5 GB worth of files and with the Basic plan you get 1 GB in space. So the more products you have, the more product images you would want to upload. So as you increase your products you sell, the more space you need. Increasing the number of products also may imply (at times) that you are growing, which is a good thing it that’s the case.
So going head on against big, established players will definitely be challenging. But in the world of ecommerce, there’s plenty of space for new players to become successful. Every successful business (big or small) once started small! One just has to do things differently (whether that is in the marketing message / strategy, or product variations).
What you can do is just sign up with Shopify for a trial account and see how you do. If you find it a bit challenging, then you should also check out Squarespace which has a really good set of e-commerce tools as well. With Shopify, we've been able to create 3 customized web sites; NaykedApparel.com, NaykedPromos.com and NaykedWholesale.com that target three different demographic groups with unique buying habits. Shopify has enabled us to quickly and without a lot of coding experience, create unique shopping experiences that have resulted in increased sales for all 3 sites.
Music Vine collaborates with over 160 independent musicians to produce more than 2,500 tracks that you can segment by style, mood, energy, vocals, and duration. They also curate collections for particular themes in filmmaking and video production. You can filter them by vibe, theme, genre, and environment. Additionally, Music Vine dedicates a section of their website to their artists, letting people follow them and explore their music.

If there are any downsides, it’s that you may find the site a little constrictive if you really have a need for out-of-the-box design or functionality. Also, because you’ll need to purchase an app to add in enhanced features like email or discount popups, the monthly fees can climb pretty quickly. Still, the site—even in its un-enhanced-by-apps format—provides plenty for a beginning e-retailer to sink their mouse into.
Using Magento is not for everyone, especially if the store owner is not a programmer, or doesn't have a team of programmers working on his or her team. And then there's the price tag; the basic version is free, but getting an enterprise version means you'll need to shell out at least $20,000/year. If you don't have programmers on staff, be prepared to invest in third-party programming costs as well.

At this stage, you’ll be itching to get the store out into the World Wide Web. However, make sure you’re well prepared to measure the success of your launch – defining your key performance indicators upfront will help you track your progress and performance and fix any issues as they emerge. Other important things to take care of include setting up your social media profiles, getting the email marketing ready, installing Google Analytics, doing keyword research, defining your shipping strategy and finalizing the launch promotion plan. Yes, that’s a lot of work, but a good start is half the job done. When you complete the checklist, try running your store through the Shopify store grader to catch errors if there are any.
Thank you for sharing this very insightful article! I’ve just launched a new product. At the moment this is just an individual product but I’m looking to expand my product range in the very near future. I’m undecided whether to use Wix or Shopify since I’ll only launching a single product. I’m really liking the idea of using Shopify since I’m looking to expand my product range soon anyway. Do you know if Shopify caters for single product websites with it’s template designs? Thanks 🙂
Most of us understand how overwhelming it can be moving to a new city. Surrounded by a host of options for dining, shopping, daycare, leisure time, auto mechanics and everything else under the sun, making an educated decision on where to go involves some groundwork. So what is there to do? Many of us will turn to a new coworker or neighbor for recommendations. [More...]

With Shopify, they have a free app in their app store where you can use to sell digital products. So it’s probably preferable to use this option as then you should be able to use their reporting option in the Shopify dashboard to track your sales and related activities. With e-Junkie, it’s a very lean digital product tool but then it doesn’t integrate into Shopify’s system.

We’re guessing you don’t have a fleet of copyright attorneys on speed dial. That means it’s probably a good idea to play by the rules. Do not, for one instant, think that you are too small or insignificant to be caught. You may only have 100 YouTube followers today, but you can bet when you hit 10,000 or 100,000 or 1,000,000 followers, someone will start to take notice of your freewheeling copyright ways.
Below is a list of sources for royalty-free music and other audio tracks for video production.  Although using music in news stories isn’t always a good idea, there are many times when we need music to enhance a video or broadcast journalism project.  Intros for newscasts, sports highlights, tributes and slide shows can all benefit from an appropriate soundtrack.
