The people who answer the phones are native English speakers and talk you through your questions quickly, clearly and accurately. There is much more for me to learn on Shopify, and I am not looking at the best apps to use to help increase my business, such as abandoned cart recovery, reviews, etc. Anyhow, I have sold about $2500 in products on Shopify since February, and my Etsy store is going strong with many more sales. However, considering that I have to attract traffic to my Shopify site on my own, I am thrilled. Customer service and help at Shopify is excellent. They have lots of educational tools, plus their blog is a wealth of information for ecommerce stores.
The ecommerce industry will continue growing. According to N Channel, in the US, brick and mortar retailers generate $3.9 trillion in sales while ecommerce generates $294 billion. Over time, ecommerce will continue to take away market share from brick and mortar retailers as it has been doing over the past few years. This is good news for those looking to start online stores as sales will only continue to go up, though competition will also increase in the space.

However, I cannot find a way to create a separate section- think ‘members only’- with products and/or pricing that is not viewable by the general public. I’ve researched a lot of apps/plugins, but none seem to match my needs. Do you know how this can be done without creating an entirely separate store? Any ideas when the Shopify to Amazon(sell your products on Amazon) will be ready? Nothing from them and I have a client where they have that as a requirement. They were using the Amazon Webstore product that is shutting down in July. I see the Amazon has teamed up with Shopify to migrate the data, but that’s a 1 time deal and it doesn’t push any new product data up do Amazon.

I opened my stores on shopify twice and got the same result. If you check online you can see a lot of people are having the same issue and shopify will not help you! I signed up for their 14 day trial, then selected a plan, entered my credit card and shopify shut down my store immediately! I had put in hours of work and in an instant everything is gone!

I don’t think any specific website builders can get any pages or products to the top of the search engines by themselves. Getting good ranking for your website requires you to work on your onsite and offsite SEO and it takes time and consistency in order to achieve this! Imagine if it was too easy, then everybody can rank well, but there can only be 10 search results on the first page of search engines!
Their arrogance in my following discussions with them was shocking and despite my attempts to offer solutions and alternatives to their unacceptable action they maintained their intransigence. I have no option but to leave Shopify altogether because by closing off the payment gateway this adds an additional 2% transaction fee for using alternatives and my business is very small margin that this fee makes the business unprofitable. They have also offered no recompense or solutions or even an apology. I would not go anywhere near this company and they are the worst company I have dealt with in my entire career. I am glad to be leaving but it infuriates me to think they can mess around with peoples lives the way they do. I have heard of many others since this happened to me that have had similar experiences with Shopify. Avoid at all costs! There are plenty of alternatives and even ones that change no transaction fees if you use an alternative payment gateway.

Several of my friends and I ordered from the “TREND Harbor” website, which took payment through Shopify. We ordered items, they took our orders and payments through Shopify but never delivered our order’s, one friend ordered February 1,2017 and has not received her order, as well as others who ordered days apart, we thought we’d try to reach out to you since Trend Harbor will not return calls or answer emails, we have tried numerous times to no avail. We don’t know what else to do as it said payment was taken by Shopify with Stripe. If you could give us any info we’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you for any help you can suggest to us

Great info everytime! I’d really like to see a Shopify (updated) and a Magento Community Version (MC) (updated) competitive comparison review. But with your expert opinion, which is the better option? I am on MC, using a server, but do not have on hand, a team of tech experts to help whenever problems arise. As the business grow, I appreciate MC’s functionality but heard Shopify matches the functionality in terms by adding the Shopify apps, and the costs of these apps would be even out by the server requirement cost for MC? I like the fact that Shopify now has a ONE payment/dashboard gateway which makes it easy for customers and admin alike, 24/7 support (would they revert to non 24/7 as their marketshare grows?), but end of day is we do not own the platform like we do MC (ownership is a pretty big thing haha), and I read that’s because they are able to execute version upgrades seamlessly with this model of us not owning the software platform? Torn between the two but want ultimate ecommerce success at the end and the correct ecommerce platform that will help bring us there. Your thoughts please.

I have a Shopify store I purchased as a birthday gift to myself (3/29/2018). I wanted to sell moissanite diamonds. I found the perfect store, purchased it. Did all I thought I needed to do. I attempted to use the Shopify payments as it was easiest to use for the e-com store. I was denied and said that my e-commerce store was a risk as well. I recently tried to sell on the same platform and was denied because of this supposed risk they NEVER tell you of. DO NOT USE SHOPIFY. Luckily my storefront was only $300 and I only spent another 300 in attempting to get it up and running. My store is currently closed BUT was told it stays in the system for up to a year. So far it has been closed for 2 months.
