But you also have to fine tune your site for optimizing images, and fix your page speed. But it is still worth it because you learn so much from the experience and have the opportunity to put wonderful products to your store. Hello, I want to start an online business. I do not have a lot of inventory, so before I jump into opening a store, I want to start by drop shipping. I am confused about how drop shipping works. How do I know how much to charge in shipping if my products will be from different vendors and different weights. Does Shopify do this automatically for me? And what if my vendor has an item that is on back order? The store I want to launch is Home Accents. Please let me know how I can get this started.
I think both will work, but the key advantage of using Shopify is their App Store. While Squarespace’s e-commerce tools are sufficient for you to power your store, Shopify can give you access to so much more in terms of marketing tools, sales, shipping, inventory management, etc. We discussed their app store in a dedicated section above, and I also mentioned it in my video overview.
Traditionally if you wanted to accept payments you would have to use a third-party payments processor like Stripe, PayPal, or others that would charge a certain fee per transaction. Shopify has created their own payment processor called Shopify Payments (Powered by Stripe). If you decide to sign up for this program then all transaction fees will be lifted regardless of your plan.

I have a Shopify store front and it is not making any money. While Shopify has nice features, it is insanely difficult to generate traffic. I’ve tried using social media (Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Google+) but I get very few visitors. Shopify’s advice simply does not work. You can do all the SEO tweaking you want but the large stores, who advertise, will always be in the front pages of Google. Your Shopify store will be undiscovered.
